I was the first one who came upon the village, and I was immediately propositioned by a woman seeking a lesbian relationship with me. I was uncomfortable and ignored her, but I did notice that all the couples I saw were woman and woman or man and man, no heterosexual couples anywhere. I thought it was odd, but who was I to judge them as long as they didn't force it on me?
In truth, everyone acted really...odd. It was like they weren't really in control of their actions and that their minds weren't truly engaged in what they were doing. Their minds looked like they had taken a step back, and their eyes looked distant. It was really creepy, but I couldn't figure out what was causing it.
I went away from the village for a while to explore, and while I was exploring I discovered why the villagers seemed so odd. They truly weren't in control of their own actions. Somehow they were being controlled by the elders of the village by eating these strange fruits that grew just nearby. There were fruits that could change a person's form into that of an animal, that could force them to be attracted to members of the same or opposite sex, or even could make someone unable to resist following the orders of the first person they see, forsaking their own decision making entirely. I realized that all the villagers were, in essence, slaves.
I ran back to the village and met with my party leader. I could see that the village elders were starting to do the same thing to our own party members, but my party leader didn't notice, and only thought of perhaps using the fruits to turn our party members into dragons so that we could stand a better chance against the evil dragon Glena we set out to kill in the first place. He could not be persuaded to see the danger we were in!
Then I ran into Levi, the love of my life, dressed in his overalls, working on landscaping outside. I tried to warn him of the danger we were in, but he didn't respond, instead just looking at me vacantly and continuing to work on the gardens and lawns. It was then I realized with horror that I was too late. I kept shouting, "Baby, please listen to me! Honey? Please Levi!" But there was nothing. I kissed him as passionately as I could, with the villagers looking at me with an expression of mild confusion and interest, but again, nothing changed in Levi's expression. He glanced at me, then gently pushed past me and continued on his way.
I fell to my knees and started crying, my heart broken in two. There was nothing else I could do. But suddenly, in the midst of my sobs I suddenly felt strong arms envelope me and pull me close. I looked up and Levi was gazing back at me, the light returned in is eyes as he just held me. Somehow my sobs broke the fruit's control over him.
And so the dream ended and I awoke to my alarm.
