Corruption sludge!

The first part of this dream followed a young man in his early 20s. He was elegant, pale-skinned with dark hair, and seemed to have an air of authority about him. However, he was cursed to have a sort of corrupted blood flowing through his veins, so that if his skin was cut, a drop of black sludge would drip out and morph into a monster. The only good news was that the monster was somewhat under the man's control, but it was a very dangerous power he was given. I seem to remember a feeling that these monsters were seen elsewhere in the world too, which makes me think that the young man was somehow maybe absorbing the corruption of the world and gaining control of it. That or the taint was everywhere, and the man's was somehow different from the rest of the world.

The second part followed a young woman with magical powers (me!). I could control fire, earthquakes, move objects with my mind, and all sorts of other things all through the force of my will. I was apparently quite powerful, but I couldn't sustain my powers for too long without being wracked with pain.

I also lived in this world with the corruption sludge, but this particular sludge could invade people's bodies, making it so that they were forced to eat human flesh and drink human blood to retain their sanity. If they didn't cannibalize their fellow man, they'd eventually irrevocably turn into monsters and go on killing sprees. One of my dearest friends, a young woman, was infected by the sludge, and I was trying desperately to find a way to hide her from authorities who would kill her on the spot while trying to find a way to cure her.

I followed a government agent to a small outdoor jail cell, where there was a barred window in the ceiling that people could talk to the prisoners. I knew that the men in there knew something about the new infectious corruption, so they might be able to help me cure my friend. I waited for the agent to leave, then I sneaked up to the window and asked for their help.

The men refused, at first, saying that if they didn't talk to the agent, why on earth should they talk to me? I got angry, extended my hand, and started to cause an earthquake localized in their cell, tossing the men and their belongings around like rag dolls. They came to see things my way and gave me something that was a bit like a slightly oversized deflated football.

The dream shifted to my friend and me running along city streets, dodging government cars and working with other people to keep the deflated football away from the agents. Eventually we broke away from the agents and reached what looked like a giant oven. I put the ball inside and my friend, closed the door, and began to concentrate.

Somehow I was able to move the infectious corruption from my friend into the deflated ball, and she was cured! I nearly passed out from pain doing so, but she was cured. Eventually others heard of our success and slowly I began to save people's family and friends from the infection.

Warnings against staying in strange villages.

So, in this dream, Levi (my boyfriend) and I were travelling with a group of adventurers on our way to battle with a terrifying dragon named Glena. However, this dream focuses not on the dragon, but on a village that my adventuring party stumbled upon. We stopped there in order to rest and resupply for a short while.

I was the first one who came upon the village, and I was immediately propositioned by a woman seeking a lesbian relationship with me. I was uncomfortable and ignored her, but I did notice that all the couples I saw were woman and woman or man and man, no heterosexual couples anywhere. I thought it was odd, but who was I to judge them as long as they didn't force it on me?

In truth, everyone acted really...odd. It was like they weren't really in control of their actions and that their minds weren't truly engaged in what they were doing. Their minds looked like they had taken a step back, and their eyes looked distant. It was really creepy, but I couldn't figure out what was causing it.

I went away from the village for a while to explore, and while I was exploring I discovered why the villagers seemed so odd. They truly weren't in control of their own actions. Somehow they were being controlled by the elders of the village by eating these strange fruits that grew just nearby. There were fruits that could change a person's form into that of an animal, that could force them to be attracted to members of the same or opposite sex, or even could make someone unable to resist following the orders of the first person they see, forsaking their own decision making entirely. I realized that all the villagers were, in essence, slaves.

I ran back to the village and met with my party leader. I could see that the village elders were starting to do the same thing to our own party members, but my party leader didn't notice, and only thought of perhaps using the fruits to turn our party members into dragons so that we could stand a better chance against the evil dragon Glena we set out to kill in the first place. He could not be persuaded to see the danger we were in!

Then I ran into Levi, the love of my life, dressed in his overalls, working on landscaping outside. I tried to warn him of the danger we were in, but he didn't respond, instead just looking at me vacantly and continuing to work on the gardens and lawns. It was then I realized with horror that I was too late. I kept shouting, "Baby, please listen to me! Honey? Please Levi!" But there was nothing. I kissed him as passionately as I could, with the villagers looking at me with an expression of mild confusion and interest, but again, nothing changed in Levi's expression. He glanced at me, then gently pushed past me and continued on his way.

I fell to my knees and started crying, my heart broken in two. There was nothing else I could do. But suddenly, in the midst of my sobs I suddenly felt strong arms envelope me and pull me close. I looked up and Levi was gazing back at me, the light returned in is eyes as he just held me. Somehow my sobs broke the fruit's control over him.

And so the dream ended and I awoke to my alarm.

College, magic, and clockwork mice!

I dreamed that I was a young college student in a a very urban college. Surrounded by skyscrapers I was scrambling to find and acquire all the materials I needed for my classes. Then the scene shifted to later at night. I was with another male classmate, and both of us had magical powers which were decently strong. We were in a college science lab building, going through rooms and clearing them of monsters. I also had tiny clockwork mouse companion that I called "Mushi". I went everywhere with that clockwork mouse.

Suddenly we ran into other humans with strong powers as well in the building. They were here looking for a certain item that some of the monsters dropped when they were defeated, and they didn't take kindly to us clearing out their monsters. My friend and I had to set up shields up and down the hallway to keep the enemy humans from rushing us as we were too tired after fighting so many monsters to defend ourselves from their onslaught. While they were trying to break through our shield I found the monster they were looking for in one of the labs. Unfortunately we were too exhausted to fight it and snatch the coveted item, and before we knew it we heard an explosion as the enemy broke through one of our shields.

I swiftly collected Mushi and a second clockwork mouse that he had found, and we ran out the exit in the lab with the monster, escaping to the outside of the building. I felt drained and exhausted, but we kept running. I was just contemplating if I had the energy to try levitating and flying home when my alarm woke me up.

Rebellion!

Finally a new epic dream!

The setting was a land that had a mix of technologies. Many people drove cars around, but there were still many others who used horses and horse-drawn equipment. A sort of mix of the new and old. And in this land of interesting technologies, an oppressive evil empire was sweeping over the continent conquering everything in its path. People who merely surrendered to the empire's might were able to (for the most part) continue living on their land, but much of their wealth was sent to the capital and their young men were forcibly recruited to serve in the army. Their lives were bleak.

But if people fought the empire, if they weren't killed in combat they were captured and sent to the capital to become slaves, their lives forever forfeit to their enemy.

I had been among those who fought, but the empire swept over my land anyway, and I ran, slipping away from my enemy. I ran along the southern edge of the continent, searching for a place where the empire had not yet arrived, but wherever I turned its soldiers' feet had tramped first. Finally I arrived at a small home in the mountains. It was a beautiful place, with waterfalls and ponds and wonderful cherry trees growing all around this secluded home. It seemed untouched by the war I had been running from.

Of course, things were not as peaceful as I had hoped. The path I had taken was the most difficult way I could have taken to arrive there, so I had not seen the soldiers to the north attacking from the steep mountain path. There was a single defender of this home, a young man skilled in combat who used the terrain to his advantage to defend his land. He lived alone.

He took me in and nursed me back to health after my exhaustion, but eventually the army was pressing too hard on him for the man to continue defending his home, even with my help. (I can only assume that the empire armies finally got a little air support.)

And so we were captured. The enemy did not exactly treat us well, though they didn't physically harm us either. We were taken to a city stronghold nearby along with many other prisoners on our way to the capital, but the two of us had a plan to escape from our captors and find the rumored underground resistance located in the empire's very capital! We were kept separated from each other, and we knew we'd have to escape on our own without the other.

And so I waited, thinking of how to escape before we reached the capital, where the security would be too strong, and slowly I made friends with a frightened young girl. She had been captured because her parents had fought, and even though she had never touched a weapon in her life she was paying the price. I calmed her and in whispers told her of the rumors of the underground and that she could escape if only she found a way. I knew I couldn't take her with me unless our luck was great, but I taught her to keep an eye out for herself and taught her everything I could in how to stay hidden when she needed to.

Finally at one outpost an alarm was raised! My friend who had protected me in the mountains had escaped! In the general confusion I couldn't take my young friend with me, but I told her that no matter what I'd see her again. And then I slipped away.

Outside of the post, the native people couldn't tell that I was formerly a prisoner of the empire. I avoided the soldiers and slowly made my way to the capital, walking along the country roads in the green hills and befriending people who lived in the small towns along the way. Eventually I arrived at the capital, a large bustling city where most people seemed to be unaware of what was happening in the war so far away, though I couldn't help but feel an air of oppression.

Then I was spotted by a few of the very soldiers that had captured me in the first place, back in that mountain home, and so I ran. Suddenly a vaguely Asian monk dressed in orange ropes appeared in front of me and guided me to safety to a temple. It was a temple made of slabs of stone, with bamboo fountains and beautiful trees, and I was greeted by my friend from the mountains! This temple was a front for the underground rebellion that we had heard about!

My friend and I were given a small home for ourselves in the temple for us to rest and recuperate, but I continued to worry about the young girl, my friend, who was still in the empire's clutches.

Suddenly there was a loud thud from another room in the house, and we rushed in, weapons in our hands, to find the young girl lying on our floor! We hugged and cried, and she told us about how she had escaped.

She had arrived in the capital with the soldiers and other prisoners, and she noticed that there was a series of large pipes that funneled air into the underground rooms in which they were held. The pipes were too small for an adult to squeeze through, but she had not yet fully grown, and was small for her age, so one night she slipped into one and slithered through until she could find an opening to slip out. And she fell right into our home! What fortune!

And so the dream ended.

Naptime Dreams

So, while I was taking a nap I had a really short dream which was kind of interesting...

I was walking down a street in a part of town which reminded me of downtown Crawfordsville. Older buildings with storefronts, restaurants, cafes, that sort of thing, but it was slightly run-down. I'm walking past this parking lot, and I suddenly hear a rather violent argument going on. I look around to try to find the source of the shouting, but the few people on the street aren't fighting with each other. Then I look up and see a very large window pane which was kind of smoky so I couldn't see clearly who was in there, but I could see three guys in a room, and two of them were having a knock-down drag-out fight with each other, and I could clearly hear all the things they were shouting at each other. When I took a few steps to the left, though, I could clearly see inside the window. Two men were at each other's throats while the third was sitting in an office chair. Behind him was a table with a row of desktop computers.

Of course, I immediately start to call the police because I'm worried that someone's going to get hurt, but it takes me a while to figure out the numbers on my phone, like I couldn't recognize them. Then I get on the line with the dispatcher and I tell them what's going on. Then, I try to tell them where I am. Now, for some reason, I couldn't read any of the signs around me. I couldn't read the street sign, the shop signs, the sign for the cafe next door, nothing. It was really odd, because I could recognize the letters, but not the words those letters were forming.

Finally I could recognize the run-down sign in the building the fighting men were in, a Harkins movie theater. (who'd have thunk it?)

Right as a police car was pulling up the three men exited the building, one of them carrying a large briefcase. I pointed out the two men who were fighting to the policeman and he started talking to them. However the third man picked up the briefcase and started walking off down the street with it. I didn't want him to just walk off because he was part of this whole thing, so I just tackled him to get him to stop walking off, but he just kept walking with me clinging to his back.
